Introducing Rachel Scanlan

Rachel Scanlan
Do you need a safe, confidential space to be seen and heard? Would you like to explore your feelings and gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions and your reactions to life events? Are you stuck in a rut and wanting to explore how to change your behaviours? Together, we can look at your experiences, your past trauma or adversity and your current challenges and consider new ways of being.

I have over 15 years experience of working in NHS maternity services, including with families who have suffered loss and trauma.

I offer in person sessions in a private setting. I can offer sessions in the early evenings as well as during the day.

I have a MSc in Women’s Health and have experience of working with women who have experienced domestic violence and women who have experienced birth trauma.

Having completed my final year of training at Scarborough Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Institute, I work creatively so you can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to help you can understand who you are.

My approach is based on building a strong therapeutic relationship and providing you with the emotional support you need.

I have experience supporting people with trauma and adversity. I work with women who have experienced domestic abuse and violence. With over 15 years experience as an NMC registered midwife, I have expertise in traumatic grief and loss.
